Creating and maintaining purchase journal entries

Introduction

In Exact Globe Next, the purchase journal allows you to register purchase invoice or credit notes.

You can also choose to display and select unprocessed, processed, and empty purchase journal entries.

Note: Before you create purchase journal entries, you need to make sure you have the required journals for purchases under System > Finance > Journals. For more information on creating journals, see Creating and maintaining journals.

What version are you using?

The information in this document is applicable to product update 502 and higher. If you have versions lower than this, certain features explained here will not be applicable.

How do I create purchase journal entry?

  1. In the Finance > Entries > Purchase screen, click New.
  2. Fill in the fields.
  3. Click Close to save.

How do I edit purchase journal entry?

  1. In the Finance > Entries > Purchase screen, define the search criteria.
  2. Click Refresh.
  3. Select a journal.
  4. Click Zoom.
  5. Select a journal entry.
  6. Click Open.
  7. Click Edit.
  8. Edit the journal entry details.
  9. Click Close to save.

How do I match purchase invoices?

  1. In the Finance > Entries > Purchase screen, define the search criteria.
  2. Click Refresh.
  3. Select a journal.
  4. Click Zoom.
  5. Select a journal entry.
  6. Click Open.
  7. Click Match.
  8. Select a purchase invoice.
  9. Click Match/Process. For more information, see Matching entries.

How do I create a creditor?

  1. In the Finance > Entries > Purchase screen, define the search criteria.
  2. Click Refresh.
  3. Select a journal.
  4. Click Zoom.
  5. Select a journal entry.
  6. Click Open.
  7. Click New creditor.
  8. Fill in the fields.
  9. Click Save. For more information, see Creating and maintaining accounts payable.

How do I view the details of a creditor?

  1. In the Finance > Entries > Purchase screen, define the search criteria.
  2. Click Refresh.
  3. Select a journal.
  4. Click Zoom.
  5. Select a journal entry.
  6. Click Open.

How do I view the creditor card?

  1. In the Finance > Entries > Purchase screen, define the search criteria.
  2. Click Refresh.
  3. Select a journal.
  4. Click Zoom.
  5. Select a journal entry.
  6. Click Open.
  7. Click Creditor card.

How do I view the general ledger card?

  1. In the Finance > Entries > Purchase screen, define the search criteria.
  2. Click Refresh.
  3. Select a journal.
  4. Click Zoom.
  5. Select a journal entry.
  6. Click Open.
  7. Click Edit.
  8. Select a general ledger line.
  9. Click G/L card.

How do I view the recurring entries?

  1. In the Finance > Entries > Purchase screen, define the search criteria.
  2. Click Refresh.
  3. Select a journal.
  4. Click Zoom.
  5. Select a journal entry.
  6. Click Open.
